Lightweight champion Anthony "Showtime" Pettis (C) LW, who will fight against Gilbert "El Nino" Melendez #1 LW on the 6th of December. Clay bet on his takedowns, and his strategy was to cut Pettis's area to eliminate his possibility to be "Showtime". It was very efficient. Clay thinks that his teammate Cub Swanson #4 FTW is dangerous striker like Anthony Pettis, and Frankie "The Answer" Edgar #2 FTW won because he cut the movement zone with takedowns. Otherwise, Clay Guida suggests that Anthony Pettis is very good grappler, and his opponents should pay attention for it. So, in my view, Anthony's guard is very active, and the key to win for Gilbert Melendez is pressure at standup...I don't think that Gilbert can surprise Anthony in grappling.
